Real ingredient, allergen and nutrition details for the products Happy Hippo currently serves, with clear notes where a product or supplier can vary.
Reviewed September 5, 2026What this page tells you
We researched the actual standard products used by Happy Hippo instead of applying one generic allergen statement to everything we serve. Where a supplier publishes a current ingredient or allergen declaration, the information is summarized below.
A manufacturer declaring no major allergen for a packaged product does not mean Happy Hippo can promise an allergen-free serving environment. Our staff, utensils, toppings, bottles, scoops, equipment and service surfaces may be used around other products containing major allergens.
Manufacturers can reformulate products. If a current package, case label or manufacturer specification differs from this page, the current label should be treated as the controlling product information.
How to read our labels
Philadelphia Water Ice Factory
Happy Hippo’s current Italian ice lineup uses Philadelphia Water Ice Factory 2.5-gallon tubs in Blueberry, Cherry, Mango, Tropical Rainbow, Strawberry Kiwi and Lemon.
The manufacturer labels these products Pareve and states that they are manufactured in a peanut-free plant. Their current ingredient statements do not declare a major FDA food allergen for these six standard water ice flavors. That manufacturer statement does not eliminate cross-contact risk once products enter Happy Hippo’s shared service environment.
Blueberry
Water, sugar, corn syrup, artificial flavor, citric acid, xanthan gum, guar gum, cellulose, carrageenan and FD&C Blue #1.
Cherry
Water, sugar, corn syrup, artificial flavor, citric acid, xanthan gum, guar gum, cellulose, carrageenan and FD&C Red #40.
Mango
Water, sugar, corn syrup, natural and artificial flavor, citric acid, xanthan gum, guar gum, cellulose, mango puree and FD&C Yellow #5 and #6.
Tropical Rainbow
Water, sugar, corn syrup, artificial flavor, guar gum, xanthan gum, citric acid, carrageenan, FD&C Red #40, Blue #1 and Yellow #5.
FlavorPhiladelphia Water Ice describes Tropical Rainbow as pineapple, blueberry and cherry swirled together.
Strawberry Kiwi
Water, sugar, corn syrup, whole strawberries, artificial flavor, citric acid, xanthan gum, guar gum, cellulose, carrageenan and FD&C Red #40.
Lemon
Water, sugar, corn syrup, natural flavor, lemon juice concentrate, lemon pulp sacs, citric acid, xanthan gum, guar gum and cellulose.
Source basis: Philadelphia Water Ice Factory’s current 2.5-gallon product nutrition sheets and product guide.
Snowie flavor concentrates
Happy Hippo uses Snowie traditional flavor concentrates. Snowie publishes ingredient statements for the concentrate itself. Snowie also explains that these concentrates are normally mixed into sugar-water to make ready-to-serve shaved ice syrup, so the finished syrup contains added sugar even when sugar does not appear in the concentrate ingredient statement.
The allergen notes below describe Snowie’s manufacturer declaration for the concentrate. Happy Hippo still cannot guarantee against cross-contact at a shared flavor station.
1. Tiger’s Blood
Strawberry, watermelon and coconut.
Concentrate ingredientsHappy Hippo’s three-part description combines Snowie’s Tiger’s Blood profile with Watermelon. The combined verified concentrate ingredients are water, natural and artificial flavors, FD&C Red #40, citric acid, cloud emulsion and sodium benzoate.
Snowie’s standard catalog describes its standalone Tiger’s Blood concentrate as strawberry + coconut. The watermelon component shown here reflects Happy Hippo’s stated three-flavor version.
2. Blue Raspberry
Water, artificial flavor, FD&C Blue #1, citric acid, FD&C Red #40 and sodium benzoate.
3. Cotton Candy Blue
Water, artificial flavor, FD&C Blue #1, cloud emulsion, citric acid, FD&C Red #40 and sodium benzoate.
4. Lime Berry
Snowie’s current traditional concentrate catalog does not list a flavor named “Lime Berry.” Because Happy Hippo has not identified which Snowie concentrate or concentrate blend is used for this menu name, publishing a guessed ingredient list would be inaccurate.
If this is Lime + BlueberryThe combined Snowie concentrate ingredients would be water, natural and artificial flavors, citric acid, FD&C Yellow #5, Blue #1 and Red #40, plus sodium benzoate. Snowie lists “None” for major allergens on both Lime and Blueberry; its Lime row separately flags Yellow #5 as a sensitizer.
5. Wild Cherry
Water, artificial flavor, citric acid, FD&C Red #40, FD&C Blue #1 and sodium benzoate.
6. Sour Grape
Water, artificial flavor, citric acid, FD&C Red #40, FD&C Blue #1 and sodium benzoate.
7. Piña Colada
Water, natural and artificial flavors, cloud emulsion, citric acid and sodium benzoate.
In Snowie’s current traditional ingredient table, the allergen cell for Piña Colada is blank rather than explicitly marked “None.”
8. Watermelon
Water, natural and artificial flavor, FD&C Red #40, citric acid and sodium benzoate.
9. Zombie Virus
Lime + blueberry.
IngredientsWater, natural and artificial flavors, citric acid, FD&C Yellow #5, FD&C Blue #1 and sodium benzoate.
Snowie’s current ingredient table leaves the allergen cell blank for Zombie Virus rather than explicitly marking “None.”
10. Zombie Serum
Snowie does not currently list a traditional concentrate named “Zombie Serum.” It does list Zombie Anti-Virus and Zombie Virus.
If “Zombie Serum” is Happy Hippo’s name for Zombie Anti-VirusThe verified Zombie Anti-Virus concentrate ingredients are water, natural and artificial flavors, FD&C Red #40, FD&C Yellow #5, citric acid and sodium benzoate. Snowie’s current catalog describes this flavor as fruit punch and coconut.
Confirm the internal Happy Hippo recipe before treating the Zombie Anti-Virus profile as the final ingredient statement for Zombie Serum.
11. Aloha Hawaii
Hawaiian punch + coconut.
IngredientsWater, natural and artificial flavors, FD&C Yellow #5, FD&C Blue #1, citric acid, FD&C Red #40 and sodium benzoate.
FD&C color additives are not the same thing as the FDA’s nine major food allergens. Snowie’s ingredient table separately identifies certain sensitizers for some flavors, including Yellow #5 for its Lime concentrate.
Country Rich vanilla ice cream
The currently verified bulk scooped ice cream is Country Rich Artificially Flavored Vanilla Ice Cream, product #102010, a 3-gallon tub made by Wells Enterprises.
Vanilla Ice Cream
IngredientsMilk, cream, skim milk, corn syrup, buttermilk, high fructose corn syrup, whey, sugar; contains 2% or less of natural and artificial flavors, guar gum, tara gum, cellulose gel, cellulose gum, carrageenan, carob bean gum, xanthan gum, mono and diglycerides, polysorbate 80, caramel color and annatto extract for color.
Wells Enterprises Country Rich specification generated July 22, 2026.
This ingredient profile is specifically for Country Rich Vanilla product #102010. If Happy Hippo adds another Country Rich flavor, that exact SKU should be added here rather than assuming the vanilla formula applies to it.
Blue Bunny packaged treats
Happy Hippo may offer individually packaged Blue Bunny frozen novelties. The exact assortment can change by event, and Blue Bunny products can differ substantially in ingredients and allergens. Milk is common, while wheat, soy, peanuts and tree nuts may be relevant to particular products.
This is a variable packaged assortment rather than one fixed product SKU. Applying one novelty’s ingredient statement to every Blue Bunny item would be inaccurate. The unopened wrapper for the exact novelty being served remains with the product and provides the item-specific ingredient and allergen declaration.
For a packaged novelty, ask a team member to show you the unopened wrapper before the item is opened whenever possible. This allows you to check the exact product rather than relying on a category-level summary.
Branded topping ingredients & allergens
The toppings bar is one of the highest cross-contact areas in our service because several products containing different major allergens may be open at the same time.
OREO Original
Unbleached enriched flour (wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), sugar, palm oil, soybean and/or canola oil, cocoa processed with alkali, high fructose corn syrup, leavening, salt, soy lecithin, chocolate and artificial flavor.
Reese’s Pieces
Sugar, partially defatted peanuts, hydrogenated vegetable oil (palm kernel oil, soybean oil), corn syrup solids; contains 2% or less of palm kernel oil, corn syrup, salt, artificial colors including Yellow 6 Lake, Yellow 5 Lake, Red 40 Lake and Blue 1 Lake, modified cornstarch, confectioner’s glaze, soy lecithin, vanillin and carnauba wax.
Kit Kat Milk Chocolate
Sugar, wheat flour, cocoa butter, chocolate, lactose (milk), vegetable oil (palm oil and palm kernel oil), skim milk and milk fat; contains 2% or less of soy lecithin, PGPR, vanillin, salt, yeast and baking soda.
Butterfinger
Corn syrup, sugar, ground roasted peanuts, hydrogenated palm kernel oil, cocoa, molasses, and less than 1% of dairy product solids, confectioner’s corn flakes, nonfat milk, salt, soy lecithin, soybean oil, cornstarch, natural flavor, monoglycerides, TBHQ and citric acid for freshness, and annatto color.
Butterfinger’s current official allergy FAQ identifies milk, soy and peanuts and states no wheat, egg or tree nuts for the standard Butterfinger product.
Heath
Sugar, vegetable oil, dairy butter (milk), almonds, lactose (milk), reduced protein whey (milk); contains 2% or less of chocolate, skim milk, cocoa, cocoa processed with alkali, salt, soy lecithin and natural flavor.
Rainbow & Chocolate Sprinkles
Happy Hippo’s current page does not identify one permanent sprinkle manufacturer or SKU. Sprinkle formulas can differ in starches, oils, glazes, color additives and allergen declarations. Until a specific product is standardized, a definitive ingredient list would be guesswork.
Once Happy Hippo standardizes the exact rainbow and chocolate sprinkle products, add their package ingredient statements here.
Topping scoops, containers, hands and nearby surfaces can transfer crumbs or residue between toppings. A topping that does not contain a particular allergen in its own formula should not be assumed to remain isolated after the toppings bar has been in service.
The exact Joy cones we use
Happy Hippo uses Joy Baking Group’s standard 12-count Cake Cups and 12-count Sugar Cones.
Cake Cups
IngredientsEnriched flour (wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), tapioca starch, sugar; contains 2% or less of canola oil, leavening (sodium bicarbonate, ammonium bicarbonate), salt, annatto color and natural flavor.
View Joy Cake CupsSugar Cones
IngredientsBleached enriched flour (wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), brown sugar; contains 2% or less of canola oil and/or palm oil and/or soybean oil, oat fiber, salt, soy lecithin and natural flavor.
View Joy Sugar ConesCup
A non-edible serving cup avoids the wheat and soy ingredients introduced by the edible cone itself. It does not make the ice cream or toppings allergen-free and does not remove shared-service cross-contact risk.
Formula allergens vs. service cross-contact
Ingredient and allergen labels tell you what a manufacturer declares for a particular product. Cross-contact is different: a food can pick up small amounts of another ingredient through shared utensils, bottles, scoops, topping bins, hands, equipment or service surfaces.
Major allergens relevant to products we may handle
- Milk — Country Rich ice cream, Kit Kat, Butterfinger, Heath and many frozen novelties.
- Peanuts — Reese’s Pieces, Butterfinger and some frozen novelty products.
- Tree nuts — Heath contains almonds; tree nuts may also appear in some novelty products.
- Wheat — Joy Cake Cups, Joy Sugar Cones, OREO and Kit Kat.
- Soy — Joy Sugar Cones, OREO, Reese’s Pieces, Kit Kat, Butterfinger and Heath.
- Egg — may be present in some variable packaged products even though it is not declared in the standard items listed above.
- Sesame — not intentionally listed in the verified standard formulas above, but it remains one of the FDA major allergens and can appear in changing third-party products.
- Fish or crustacean shellfish — not intentionally listed in the standard treat formulas above.
Happy Hippo does not operate a dedicated allergen-free kitchen, vehicle, flavor station or toppings bar. We cannot guarantee that a served item is free from traces of a particular allergen.
If you have a food allergy
Tell a Happy Hippo team member before ordering. We can identify the exact standard product being served, show an unopened wrapper where applicable and, when practical, use a cleaner serving path. Those steps may reduce avoidable contact, but they do not create an allergen-free environment.
Useful numbers without pretending every serving is identical
Manufacturer serving sizes are useful reference points, but Happy Hippo event portions can differ from a manufacturer’s labeled serving. Shaved ice nutrition also changes with the amount of prepared syrup used.
| Product | Manufacturer serving | Calories | Total sugar | Key allergen note |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Italian Ice · Blueberry | 2/3 cup (129g) | 150 | 24g | No major allergen declared |
| Italian Ice · Cherry | 2/3 cup (129g) | 150 | 24g | No major allergen declared |
| Italian Ice · Mango | 2/3 cup (129g) | 120 | 27g | No major allergen declared |
| Italian Ice · Tropical Rainbow | 2/3 cup (129g) | 150 | 24g | No major allergen declared |
| Italian Ice · Strawberry Kiwi | 2/3 cup (129g) | 150 | 24g | No major allergen declared |
| Italian Ice · Lemon | 2/3 cup (129g) | 120 | 25g | No major allergen declared |
| Country Rich Vanilla | 2/3 cup (87g) | 170 | 14g | Contains milk |
| Shaved Ice | Varies by syrup amount | Varies | Varies | Flavor-specific concentrate data above |
Snowie’s ingredient document describes flavor concentrates, while the served syrup is made by diluting concentrate into sweetened water. The nutrition of a finished shaved ice therefore depends on Happy Hippo’s syrup recipe and the amount dispensed onto a particular serving.
